The Holidays Came Early at the Booker T. Washington Community Service Center’s 2021 Winterfest!
What an incredible turn out from the community this year for Booker T. Washington Community Service Center’s annual Winterfest 2021 holiday celebration last Friday, December 10th!
It was a night of celebration for the whole family, where everyone came together and enjoyed a warm-soulful holiday dinner, toys, a bounce house wonderland, basketball games in the gym, wellness activities, COVID-19 testing, COVID-19 vaccines (for adults and kids), flu-vaccines, expert health Q&A, and gifts from Santa and his elves. It was a great time for the community and neighborhood to gather in health, wellness, and happiness, in solidarity this holiday season.
The Center also received much deserved traction in the media on Friday, December 10th when our Executive Director, Shakirah Simley, was interviewed by ABC 7 News anchor, Kumasi Aaron, the morning of the Winterfest celebration, to make sure the community was aware of the event.
We even had a special visit from San Francisco Mayor London Breed, who posted on her Instagram and Twitter, “Had a great time at the Booker T. Washington Community Service Center’s Winterfest Celebration! Even saw Santa🎅🏿” 
In total, we estimate over 500 people attended the event! We are so thankful to our community for coming out to support the Center!
